Vizio Looks to Build on Strong Numbers
Vizio last week reported huge sales increases for several key product categories in early November and the company expects those numbers to carry over into the holiday season proper- to the point that "we clearly think we're going to own the season," Vizio's Randy Waynick told Dealerscope in an interview Friday.
The company said it posted a 200 percent increase year-over-year in HDTV unit sales for the first week in November, with sales of Blu-ray players jumping 1,000 percent and sound bars 250 percent year over year.
"[The numbers are] very encouraging for all of us in the industry. It shows that people will buy based upon value. They're certainly looking for what's the best deal and the best price for the technology and the features they want," Waynick, the company's recently appointed chief sales officer, said.
