At the Voxx (formerly Audiovox) press conference at CES President Tom Malone hopes "connection" will be a whole new product category for retailers.
Voxx President Tom Malone believes consumers are looking for solutions to keep them connected to the people, pets, and things in their lives, and announced several new tethering products. InSite is a tethering solution that has Bluetooth or RF tags that can be attached to any products, and give an alert when a product is separated by 50 feet. The inSite products range from $29 to $59.
On a similar note, Voxx and Qualcomm teamed up for the Tagg pet tracker. Tagg fits on a collar and allows pet owners to track animals on a smartphone via GPS. Tagg will cost $115 with three free months, and the $7.95 per month after that.
