The Voyager line of personal electric transportation was featured at the recent Pepcom show. One model on view was the Ion Scooter ($299), which can reach speeds up to 12.5 mph and can travel up to 10 miles on a single charge. It’s easily totable at just 18 pounds, according to the company, and its handlebars serve as a carrying handle as well. The scooter can accommodate a rider up to 220 pounds. Available now at ridevoyager.com, its distribution will be expanded to include retailers Walmart, BrandSmart, Fry’s, and Macy’s for the holidays, said company spokesperson Melissa Hoistion.
The scooter line’s batteries are built within the frame and the motors are built into the wheel, for a sleek design. They are equipped with an LCD display screen integrated into the center of the handlebar, providing real-time monitoring of speed, mileage, power, and assist modes.
The scooter line ranges upward in pricing from the Ion to the $699 Rover; features on this flagship include a built-in Bluetooth speaker, 13mph speed limit and 12.5-mile maximum range of travel on a single charge.
