Wal*Mart Sees CE Sales Jump
Wal*Mart announced Tuesday that it had a huge quarter in terms of CE sales, as sales in the segment grew 4.6 percent in the third quarter, Bloomberg News reported.
The jump was attributed largely to the arrival of Dell products in Wal*Mart stores during the quarter. The two companies reached a deal in June which resulted in Dell-branded computers being sold at the chain for the first time. The strong electronics performance was part of a huge quarter for the retail giant, which reported that net income rose nearly 8 percent to $2.86 billion.
