Wal-Mart Shuffles Execs To Drive Sales
Wal-Mart yesterday tapped its chief marketing executive, John Fleming, for the new position of chief merchandising officer in an effort to improve sales of products in high-growth areas.
In his new role, Fleming will also head up two new organizations, one designed to enhance overall customer experience and the other focused on product planning, pricing and replenishment. Fleming had worked as a merchandising executive at Target before joining Wal-Mart.
The retailer also appointed Stephen Quinn, a sr. vp of marketing, to replace Fleming as executive vice president and chief marketing officer.
