Walmart Plans Another New York Push
Walmart next month will make another attempt to open its first stores in New York.
New York's City Council will hold a hearing next month on the retail giant's plans to enter the nation's largest city, the New York Times reported. The hearing is no fait accompli, however; the hearing was in fact postponed from this week, after various groups came forward with opposition to the plans.
Walmart is pushing ahead however, looking at locations in all five boroughs and even retaining a former campaign manager of Mayor Michael Bloomberg as a lobbyist on behalf of the effort.
