Walmart Expands Urban Online Efforts
Walmart last week announced two new customer ease-of-use initiatives, known as "Pick Up Today" and "FedEx Site to Store."
"PIck Up Today," will available in 800 stores, mostly in cities, this month. It allows users to check the inventory of its nearest store online, in the electronics, appliance and video games categories, and pick up their order within four hours.
The FedEx program, previously only available in Los Angeles and Boston, has been expanded to New York, Chicago, Washington and San Francisco. It allows users to purchase items and ship them, free of charge, to the nearest FedEx location.
