Walmart, Facebook Announce Tie-In
Walmart and Facebook Monday announced a partnership, under which Facebook users can learn about happenings at their nearest Walmart location and also receive notifications of sales, new products and special events.
The partnership will include the establishment of 3,500 store-specific Facebook pages.
"From the checkout line to our Facebook wall, Walmart continues to engage with and listen to its customers," Stephen Quinn, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Walmart U.S., said as part of the announcement. "Our innovative approach with Facebook allows us to bridge the gap between local and social, giving millions of customers the personalized shopping experience they expect from Walmart."
