Walmart Settles With Mass. Workers
Walmart has agreed to settle a class-action suit brought by workers in Massachusetts, for $40 million. According to the Boston Globe, the settlement is the largest of its kind in Bay State history.
The suit alleged that the retail giant denied workers basic services, including overtime and breaks, and manipulated time cards. The suit was filed eight years ago and includes 87,500 class members.
Walmart last year settled 63 other similar, wage-and-hour class-action suits, to the tune of $640 million.
