Victory Lap? Disney Extends Blu-ray Tour
Walt Disney Studios has decided to extend its tour of U.S. and Canadian malls, at which it shows off and explains Blu-ray Disc technology. The Magical Blu-ray Tour, which launched last year, continued this past weekend and will now visit six additional cities, as Blu-ray begins to emerge victorious in the high-def format war.
The stops will include previews of upcoming releases, interactive games, and chances to win prizes, including a home entertainment center and Blu-ray Disc players and movies.
The tour, which is sponsored by Panasonic, will kicked off its current leg last weekend in Toronto, and is scheduled to visit the following cities: Farmington, Conn., Feb. 15-18; Raleigh, N.C., Feb. 22-24, Nashville, Feb. 28-March 1; Hurst, Tex., March 7-9; Denver, March 14-16, and Chicago from July 23-27. The Chicago stop will coincide with the Unity 2008 Convention.
