Watch it Now! LG Releases its Full Super Bowl 50 Commercial
We’ve been hyping this one up for a little while now (see here and here), but I mean it’s LG, it’s the Super Bowl, it’s Ridley Scott’s return to the biggest sports Sunday on the calendar, and—probably best of all—it’s Liam freaking Neeson. How can you not be excited for that?
In case you missed any of the previous memos, here’s the cliff notes version: LG, manufacturer of some pretty high-quality televisions, asked the father-son team of Ridley and Jake Scott (Ridley was the mastermind behind the Apple 1984 Macintosh Super Bowl commercial) to produce and direct the company’s first-ever Big Game commercial. LG announced their intentions to participate in the Super Bowl advertising frenzy back in December and said the spot would focus on the future of OLED technology. Then, in January, LG released a teaser for the commercial. That’s when Neeson made his presence felt, relaying some cryptic message about how he was a #ManFromTheFuture, inevitably coming to tell us all about OLED TV technology and the very particular set of skills it possesses, which separates it from other TV technology.
But now, less than a week before kickoff of Super Bowl 50, LG has dropped the full-length commercial online. Here it is:
