Armis Labs has concluded that the ease of connecting to Bluetooth devices is also the blame for the vulnerability. Unlike the typical PEBKAC attack, malware spread by BlueBorne only needs an open Bluetooth connection. And like all good malware, the infection can multiply indefinitely and incredibly quickly.
"We've run through scenarios where you can walk into a bank and it basically starts spreading around everything," Nadir Izrael, Armis' chief technology officer said.
