TiVo has launched a new advertising solution for companies wishing to catch the attention of consumers now used to fast forwarding through their commercials - “Program Placement.” The idea is to stick the advertisement at the end of a show, where there are no more commercials to skip past. Of course, once a viewer has finished watching a program, what’s to stop them from simply deleting it before watching anything that follows? TiVo President and CEO Tom Rogers explains, “This new product
allows advertisers to reach the most desired viewers by presenting tags
prominently on the TiVo screen displayed at the end of a recorded program.”
