Fry's Sued For Harassment
West Coast electronics chain Fry's Electronics was sued this week for both sexual harassment and retaliation, with federal charges filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in U.S. District Court and by the Blankenship Law Firm in state court, both in Washington state.
Fry's, through a spokesman, denied any wrongdoing.
According to Blankenship, the suit was filed on behalf of a young female employee at a Fry's store in Renton, Wash., who was repeatedly propositioned by a senior manager. The suit alleges that when the employee told her supervisor about the harassment, the supervisor was told to "focus on his job" and ignore the situation. The manager was later suspended and fired.
