Westinghouse Digital Electronics is offering consumers a back-to-school package which includes a 14.1-inch laptop and a 19-inch LCD TV for $989, in a deal that will be available exclusively at Wal-Mart. The laptop features a WXGA TFT-Active Matrix widescreen display with 1280 x 800 resolution, an Intel Celeron 410 M Processor and Genuine Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. It houses a 60GB hard drive with 512MB DDRS SDRAM and an ATI Xpress 200M graphics card. A USB mouse and keyboard are also included.
Westinghouse’s LTV-19w6 LCD TV is HD-ready with 1440 x 900 resolution, two HD inputs and integrated speakers. The television, which often sells for between $400 - $450 on its own, can serve double duty as a computer monitor. Says Rey Roque, vice president of marketing at Westinghouse Digital Electronics, “The bundle provides a high-end, yet affordable solution that will enable students to maximize their academic pursuits and also utilize the system for entertainment purposes as well.”
