What do customers look for when thy decide to purchase a TV? How do they choose where to make the big purchase? The research firm iSuppli attempts to answer those questions, with a new survey from its ConsumerTrak service.
Rich or poor, iSuppli found, customers see price as the most important consideration in choosing where to buy their TVs. For those with incomes under $25,000, 59.6 percent of buyers listed price as their biggest consideration, while those making between $100,000 and $149,000, 63.1 percent chose a retailer based on price.
The secondary factors, though, differed among income groups, with sub-$25,000 buyers listing store location as the second-biggest factor, while their richer counterparts listed selection of televisions as the next-biggest factor. Other factors for both include knowledgeable staff, store environment and quality of service and customer support.
