What the Hell’s the Holdup with USB-C Adoption?
Enough’s enough already. Why the absolute heck are we still waiting for tech brands to get on the USB-C train with their products? The technology has been around since mid-2014, it started showing up on products in 2016, and yet here we are in 2018 and you have to be an amateur internet sleuth to find a friggin’ USB-C thumb drive.
What. The. $#*&%?
Pardon the rant, but this latest outburst of mine is the result of an otherwise really cool product launch from Lexar that seemed to totally overlook the USB-C standard. The flash memory brand recently dropped their new JumpDrive F35, a flash drive that comes in sizes ranging from 32GB all the way up to 256GB. Lexar integrated some cool security tech features into the product, including a fingerprint scanner that can store up to 10 different fingerprint IDs.
