What’s on Tap for Day 3 at CES 2016?
Prior to jumping into Friday’s events, here’s a look back at what happened today at CES 2016. Day 2 was dominated by sports and technology. There were plenty of other sessions going on throughout the day, but all of the action—yet again—was at the Sands Expo Center where Turner Sports hosted the CES Sports Business Forum.
The morning started with a powerhouse panel that included MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred and NBA Commissioner David Stern, and hosted by Inside the NBA’s Ernie Johnson. The pair of sports leaders discussed technology’s role in the changing landscape of sport, be it how sports are consumed, the on-field/on-court product, or how fans engage through social media or even fantasy sports. You can find a recap of that event—and the lessons retailers can pull from the commissioners’ message—here. That was followed up by a panel on the impact of technology on the sports product; another panel on how tech is influencing the way sports content is consumed; and finally, a panel on investing in tech in sports, which featured Mark Cuban, Shaq, and the CEO of Intel Brian Krzanich.
The day was capped by the live broadcast of TNT’s Inside the NBA from the CES show floor. Images from the day can be viewed right here.
