Attitudes: It's About Time
When I pick up the morning paper (yes, I still buy the paper), when I get my daily e-blasts, and when I tune in to the evening news, it's clear—we are climbing out of the worst economic recession in the history of our planet. All the important indicators give us reason to believe its over.
It's been a tough 18 months, but now we need to focus on the positive. The media now is even tired of the doom and gloom, increasingly delivering good news. And although unemployment is still high, we must remember history shows that with every recession, unemployment lags behind.
The housing market is rebounding. This is a key indicator for our industry. As the values of our homes start to rebound and as we go out and start to purchase new homes, the consumer will start buying electronics and furniture. After all, our homes, in most cases, are our largest assets.
