With new technology allowing consumers to listen to music virtually anywhere, Philips recently commissioned an international study to discover which “anywhere” customers actually prefer. Ironically, home use is up, at least according to 30 percent of respondents who say they listen to music at home now more than ever before. Within the home, American respondents split up their listening between the living room, bedroom and kitchen at 45, 33 and 31 percent, respectively. 23 percent of French and German respondents favored the bathroom.
In terms of music storage and playback, different countries valued different qualities when choosing their system, with 42 percent of Germans labeling simplicity as the most important factor to consider, while Americans favored sound quality at 65 percent.
