"What we're really focused on here is offering a combination of big and small sellers, in both new and used products," Herr said. "When you look at eBay computers, you'll see a lot of the biggest and best brands in technology are selling directly on eBay. These companies understand the value of the marketplace, and what we're doing is bringing quality new supply to the site and sort of expanding the categories we're in now."
It's very much like an evangelizing role," Glazier said. "It's us communicating that we have a high degree of demand for their product as demonstrated by the volume of business that's taking place on the site."
Glazier and his colleagues are attempting to educate retailers and manufacturers on how to tap eBay as a complement to their existing sales channels, as well as a low cost method of doing business.
