Where Haves Meet Wants
"We're experts at merchandising on eBay," Channel Advisor President and CEO Scot Wingo said. "There are about 30 different variables to selling on eBay; things like formats, timing and categories. We've figured out all of those variables, and that's all part of our strategy division. Companies can do this on their own, but we're going to save them about 18 months. We've done this for about 50 companies."
Wingo said IBM uses the full run of Channel Advisor's services, including creating the listings descriptions, writing the search engine and developing the "About Me" page. "There's a lot of branding involved in eBay," Wingo said. "We actually post the products on eBay for our customers. We have the technology and what sits on top of that is our creative services, strategy development, and our methodology ties it all together."
When a sale occurs, Channel Advisor sends the transaction back through IBM.com where the rest of the sale is handled by IBM's own back-end fulfillment system. "eBay hosts and we do the design," Wingo added. "We do everything you need to sell on eBay. For those companies that don't have the means of pick, pack and ship, we provide the fulfillment."
