While Research in Motion's BlackBerry remains in the leader in smartphone market share, Apple's iPhone is rapidly gaining, thanks largely to the popularity of the 3GS. That's according to research released this week by ChangeWave.
RIM's market share remains the highest at 40 percent, putting it ahead of Apple's 30 percent. The iPhone total, however, represents an all-time high for Apple, and a five-point gain over the last survey in June. Palm took third place with 7 percent.
BlackBerry has been tops in the survey since overtaking Palm in January 2007.
