Whirlpool's Energy Star-Labeled Dehumidifiers
By Tatyana Sinioukov
With the California power outages and the ever-rising utility costs, the notion of the energy crisis may be closer to home than we think, and more manufacturers are introducing energy-efficient appliances.
At the 2001 International Housewares Show in Chicago in January, Whirlpool featured energy-efficient Energy Star dehumidifiers at its booth. The event marked Energy Star's entrance into the small appliance category.
These dehumidifiers are Whirlpool's most recent additions to its Energy Star products. According to Energy Star, Whirlpool's basement dehumidifier is the only model on the market designed to operate in low temperatures (as low as 50 degrees Fahrenheit).
