Great Expectations For 4K
Fujita: We are constantly making sure we are offering a world-class retail experience. For instance, we just announced 350 new home theater retail spaces, called Sony Experience at Best Buy. The new retail space will offer a best-in-class shopping experience with a new level of interactivity. In the TV space, for example, customers will be able to control the demos with the touch of their finger. Rather than a wall of TVs all showing the same content, customers in this space will be able to compare different TVs using various content, like HD versus native 4K, direct TV and Blu-ray quality content, and more. Customers can also utilize the dedicated Sony Certified Sales Consultants who will be on hand to assist buyers and explain the benefits of Sony products. From a product perspective, our 4K Ultra HDTVs offer the best picture quality and the most content. No other manufacturer can offer the amount of 4K content we can. Our Video Unlimited 4K service, with over 200 titles, is still the world’s largest library of 4K content for the home and includes recent box office successes such as American Hustle, The Monuments Men and hit TV series The Blacklist. And, over 50 titles are available to consumers at no charge.
Das: Number One is industry-leading picture quality, across the board. In UHD, we use micro dimming to enhance contrast ratio and have the industry’s leading smart platform. We have a unique design differentiator in our curved UHD TVs. That, actually, in concert with our Auto Depth Enhancer, creates a much more immersive experience than you’d get with a flat UHD TV. Add to that, we have the most robust 4K content ecosystem in the market: industry-leading upconverting technology, our UHD Video Pack—a hard drive pre-loaded with 4K movies for the TV buyer, and the partnerships forged with streaming providers like Netflix, along with Comcast and DirectTV partnerships. All those factors together set Samsung apart. We also have one of the broadest screen-size ranges in the industry, from 50-inch all the way up to 110-inch UHD TVs.
