Great Expectations For 4K
Ramirez: We’ll be one of the brands who’ll introduce in Q3. A lot of the push for 4K this year is going to come in the fall. We’re not alone in shipping in Q3; a lot of brands are shipping then. You’ll see a lot more promotion of 4K in the fall than you have in the first half. Right now, the way I look at 4K, it’s about picture quality. With the limited amount of 4K content available, the best 4K UHD TV is the one with the best upconverting. Our L8400 and L9400 series that incorporate our third-generation CQ4K engine provide a pristine, clean upconversion process we feel is unmatched in the industry. In the 9400 series, we also incorporate a brand-new panel, the Radiance Full-Array LED panel, with twice the brightness and local dimming. It’s awe-inspiring. We could talk about connectivity or sound, but the truth is, connectivity is going to be good on 4K and 1080p TVs and there will be good sound on both, and good designs. The real reason you buy a 4K TV is picture quality. That’s what sets it apart—and it will take you into the future.
Bauer: Panasonic has always been known for delivering unrivaled picture quality and 2014 is no different. Earlier this year, at the International Consumer Electronics Show, we unveiled our 2014 Life+ Screen AX800 Series—a new category of 4K LED LCD television which combines “Beyond Smart” features and supreme picture quality in a cutting-edge design. Initial reviews in the media have indicated that the AX800 is carrying on our tradition of critically acclaimed picture quality. The series features 65-inch and 58-inch models. Both models are now available at www.shop.panasonic.com and Magnolia Home Theater at Best Buy locations across the U.S.
Kendzora: Immediately, it will be the price point. Seiki is the undisputed value leader in the 4K Ultra HD TV category. However, as TV buyers begin to look beyond the surface, they will find Seiki 4K Ultra HD TVs are comparable to other brands, offering top-notch video quality that only 4K Ultra HD can deliver, as well as other 4K innovations such as the U-VISION branded 4K Upconversion HDMI cable and the soon-to-be-released 4K Upconversion Blu-ray disc player.
