Flanner's Closes Doors
Wisconsin retailer Flanner's Home Entertainment has shut its doors, a situation the company's owner hopes is temporary. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Brookfield, Wisc., store has not declared bankruptcy, and is hoping to obtain new financing.
"We’re in the process of renegotiating our business and financing relationships to improve the company," president John Flanner wrote in a note posted to the company's website. "This process has taken longer than expected, and we are no longer able to provide the experience or level of service we strive to provide."
Flanner's was founded in 1891 by Joseph Flanner, the great-grandfather of current owner John Flanner. it started in MIlwaukee and has moved on a couple of occasions, most recently to its suburban Brookfield location in 2005.
