Withings Now Offers Breathing Disturbance Detection
With Sleep Week kicking off in just a few days, Withings launched an appropriate new upgrade. The connected-health revolution leader announced the addition of breathing disturbance detection on its Withings Sleep mats through a free update to the Health Mate App.
Breathing disturbances are fairly common but are often overlooked or deemed harmless. Over time though, these disturbances can become more frequent and intense causing a slew of health problems.
Developed and tested by leading sleep physician, Dr. Pierre Escourrou, the new features will provide early detection of potential issues that are otherwise difficult to diagnose. The Wi-Fi enabled Withings Sleep mat ―which fits neatly under a mattress― uses the ballistocardiography method to monitor a user’s sleep cycle, heart rate, and snoring. Now, the app will be able provide additional details including respiration and heart rate as well as motion and snoring to track and chart the intensity of breathing disturbances from low to high.
