Over the past few years, the consumer electronics industry has been talking a lot about the female demographic. There has been a ton of marketing research conducted on how to make CE products more appealing to women, and many retail stores are adapting their sales tactics to appeal to more women and, perhaps even more importantly, couples, recognizing the fact that, for some time now, CE is no longer just a man's world.
Last year, Dealerscope, covered the topic of women and CE from a different perspective, by interviewing women in our industry, specifically on the vendor side. While still a minority, there are more female engineers, designers, company owners and marketers in the CE business than there have ever been, and they are balancing and rounding out the industry in ways that can only mean positive growth.
But we would be remiss if we didn't address the core of readership-the retailer. In this issue, Dealerscope is tackling the issue of women in CE again. But this time, we take a look at women dealers. If you thought the vendor-side of the industry was male-dominated, you haven't seen anything, yet.
