World Wide Stereo Hosts Private Party/Tent Sale
The words “tent sale” and “custom installer” don’t usually find themselves in the same sentence, but this weekend Philadelphia suburban dealer World Wide Stereo hosted a two-part event designed to help boost both traditional retail business as well as dive more custom installations.
The weekend for World Wide was divided into two events: a Friday night private sale party and a tent sale in the parking lot Saturday and Sunday.
“We’re 70 percent custom,” says owner Bob Cole, who with his wife and business partner Karen, stood buy the door of the Montgomeryville store greeting guest to the invite-only private sale. “But we still have a significant retail business. Thirty percent is $6 million or so. People still trust us to come in a buy a TV. I believe in the retail business. I need the retail business. My retail business drives my custom business,” said Cole, who noted that about 20 percent of walk-in flat panel TV sales end up turning into custom installations.
