Worldgate Hires Wiz Founder as Ojo Consultant
The maker of Ojo video phones, in seeking to develop a new retail strategy, has reached out to a 1990s CE luminary- the founder of the now-defunct Nobody Beats the Wiz chain.
Marvin Jemal, how a CE consultant, has been retained by Worldgate Communications as they attempt to get the Ojo phone, and other products, into big box retail outlets, as well as speciality stores, Worldgate announced Wednesday. Jemal and his team will work with current employees of Worldgate in order to deliver new marketing initiatives for the Ojo.
The phone, introduced in 2004, was originally distributed by Motorola, but that agreement was dissolved in 2006, when Worldgate took over distribution exclusively.
