X-Doria, a manufacture of fashion-forward mobile accessories, has expanded its line of Defense Shied cases for the iPhone 6s by introducing a new style into the line: Iridescent. The case, designed to reflect a spectrum of different hues, creates an “ever-changing effect” for an iPhone that shifts colors as the angle of the case’s view changes.
X-Doria said that the Iridescent case’s style does now compromise its ability to protect the iPhone that it encases. The case combines polycarbonate, soft rubber, and anodized aluminum into its design to form “the ultimate in protection for the iPhone 6s.” X-Doria explained that is utilizes machined metal as opposed to plastic to ensure that the Defense Shield line provides military-grade drop protection. The case has been tested to survive a 6.6-foot drop onto concrete.
The outer portion of the case is where users will find the machined aluminum, while on the inside they’ll find the soft rubber, which ensures that the phone will never come into contact with the harder metal. The screen itself is protected from ever meeting concrete (or another surface material) while in free-fall thanks to the oversized raised lip. The rear of the case is made of the clear polycarbonate shield.
