XM, Sirius Set Date For Final Vote
The nation’s two satellite radio companies have set a date for a final shareholder vote on their merger, Dow Jones Newswires reported late last week, citing an SEC filing. The vote has been scheduled for Nov. 13.
To go forward, the deal needs the approval of both the Federal Communications Commission and the Department of Justice; no specific timetable has been set on those decisions.
Although shareholders who owned shares of XM and Sirius last Monday and Tuesday, respectively, will be eligible to vote in the referendum.
