Yahoo Said to Reject Microsoft Bid
Yahoo has rejected Microsoft’s $44.6 billion takeover bid, calling the offer “too low,” Bloomberg News reported. Yahoo reportedly is only interested if the bid is for $40 per share; Microsoft’s offer was for $31 per share.
Now, Yahoo’s options include: continuing in negotiations with Microsoft, trying to find another buyer, reaching a deal to share or sell services to another company (possibly Google) in a partnership, or simply carrying on without any other deals. Meanwhile, should a Microsoft/Yahoo deal take place, it would likely face significant scrutiny from the Justice Department.
