Mobile Phones Focus on Form and Function
If the RAZR's success proved anything in 2005, it was that consumers are still turned on heavily by design, even over features.
To judge on form factor alone, it seems that Motorola is setting the standard for the look and feel of cell phones in 2006. The majority of new phones from companies like LG, Samsung, Nokia and UT Starcom generally appear to be mimicking Motorola's two major design families, the PEBL line and the RAZR phones. "You got to give it to Motorola," says Bruce Peterson of Samsung, "They found designs that customers love. This will be the year that consumers will at last have both form and functions they want."
