YouTube Going Even More Mobile
With the success of YouTube on Apple’s iPhone, the popular online video site is expected to begin appearing on numerous other mobile devices as the year goes on, Reuters reported late last week.
The site, which is owned by Google, will soon be on “millions” of phones; as of now, it is only available on the iPhone and handsets sold by Helio; a scaled-down version is available on some Verizon phones. The company plans to offer “basically the full YouTube experience” on the phones, YouTube’s mobile product manager told Reuters in an interview. He added that the company has reached deals with a who’s-who of leading handset manufacturers, including LG, Motorola, Nokia, and Sony Ericsson.
