YouTube Will Be on Mobile Phones By Next Year, Co-Founder Says
It seems like YouTube is everywhere these days, but soon it will be somewhere new: your cell phone.
The co-founder and chief technology officer of the popular video site told an Internet forum in Taiwan over the weekend that YouTube will begin appearing on mobile devices by 2008, the AP reported. Steve Chen said that YouTube content will make the migration to mobile phones in “various parts of the world,” but did not speak about specific deals with any telecom providers.
Google, which owns YouTube, has been rumored to be interested in entering the mobile phone content market.
