ZVOX Rolls Out Super-Slim Aluminum Sound Bars
ZVOX, the company behind that pioneered the sound bar and SoundBase home theater concepts, just launched what it’s calling the next big thing in home theater audio—two new sound bars (the SB500 and SB400) that “dramatically redefine the category” with first-ever technology innovations and design features.
It’s not the fact that the super-slim sound bars check in at just 3.3-inches thick, or that they utilize aluminum cabinets that “maximize interior volume for astoundingly deep and accurate bass performance” that ZVOX is most excited about with its new sound bars. Rather, it’s the fact that they’ve developed and included a new computer-controlled woofer system that fine-tunes the excursion of the 4-inch long-throw woofers, allowing them to generate room-filling bass down to 42Hz, ZVOX said. The result: the “first-ever slender sound bar that doesn’t require n eternal subwoofer to deliver powerful” bass for both movies and music.
“Further enhancing their breakthrough audio capabilities, the two new sound bars have ZVOX’s proprietary AccuVoice dialog enhancement feature, which uses the same technology in today’s advanced hearing aids to produce crystal clear voice reproduction,” ZVOX explained in their statement. “This feature is particularly appealing to the 95 million Americans over the age of 50, many of whom have some degree of hearing impairment.”
