The in-car electronics provider Blaupunkt has announced the debut of a pair of new car radios that allow easy connection of iPods and other USB-based media devices. The Kingston MP47 and Hamburg MP47, both featuring four amplification channels, make it easy for users to listen to their entire music library while driving. The Kingston MP47, which boasts the company’s Variocolour display, is available at a suggested price of $209.95. The car radio manufacturer Blaupunkt has announced the shipping of its latest product, the San Diego mp27 car radio. The receiver plays both standard and mp3-encoded CDs, and plays up to 10 hours of music on a single CD. The radio is also compatible with the company’s iPod interface. The company, which is affiliated with Bosch, will sell the product at a suggested retail price of $149.95. No placement deals with car manufacturers have yet been announced.

Blaupunkt, a manufacturer of car audio and video products, introduced a supply-chain initiative for North America that's set to launch as of January 1, 2006. According to the company, all Blaupunkt merchandise will be shipped directly from factories overseas to independent regional distributors, thus bypassing the current Blaupunkt warehouses in the U.S. This new supply chain management strategy, enthuses Blaupunkt spokespersons, "will improve product availability and speed of delivery for many dealers." The company indicated that sales of its portable "Plug & Play" products, especially the SIRIUS Sportster, were contributing to the strong numbers.
