Mobile Entertainment Source announced Monday that it has reached an agreement with Directed Electronics to distribute several of its brands, including Autostart, Avital, Cobalt, Python, and Sirius, to its members. “As one of the industries leaders, Directed Electronics, Inc. is very pleased to be associated with Mobile Entertainment Source,” Directed’s vice president of sales, Steve Wood, said in a statement. “We recognize that the Expert Warehouse is a valuable tool in providing just-in-time inventory to specialty retailers and look forward to being part of the solution that M.E. The buying group Mobile Entertainment Source reached a key milestone this week, when it signed up its 75th member, Mobile Entertainment Magazine reported. Getting the honor was Al’s Stereo & Communications, which is located in Racine, Wisc. It only took Mobile Entertainment Source, which launched in March as a joint venture of Brand Source and the Mobile Enhancement Retailers’ Association, four months to reach 75 members.
The discount electronics and appliances retailer BrandsMart has agreed to extend its relationship Warrentech Corp. for an additional five years, the companies announced Tuesday. The North American Retail Dealers’ Association (NARDA), along with the United Servicers Association and Brand Source Service, will hold a series of business management and training seminars beginning this fall, and continuing into next year. Retailers who are not members of Brand Source can participate for a fee, which can be refunded if they join NARDA, USA, Brand Source. Technical training will be provided on Whirlpool, Fisher & Paykel and Samsung products The dates and locations for the sessions will be announced “soon,” Brand Source said.
Brand Source has added 450 Maytag Stores and Home Appliance Centers to its membership roster and created a separate division for the dealers, the buying group’s CEO, Bob Lawrence, said during Day Two of the organization’s largest-ever national convention in Las Vegas.
