The inaugural edition of CES Asia has registered 4,500 professionals from 80 countries. CES Asia is scheduled for May 25-27 in Shanghai, China.
CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro expressed his delight at the progress of the 2015 International CES last month, well before the final numbers were in. In welcoming remarks at CEA's Leaders In Technology dinner halfway through the show, he went as far as to state that it had already exceeded previous years' shows in attendance (the 2014 figure was 160,000), square footage occupied (2.2 million square feet), and diversity of attendee makeup (representatives from 150 countries besides the U.S.).

It took the consumer electronics industry quite a long time to decide whether or not the newest TV technology is called "Ultra HD" or "4K" (CEA, last year, decided to go with "4K Ultra HD.") Now, the next generation of Blu-ray is on the way, and the Blu-ray Disc Association has picked a name: "Ultra-HD Blu-ray."
Day Two of the 2015 International CES was capped Wednesday evening with the annual Leaders in Technology Dinner, featuring a keynote interview presentation with Alan Murray, Fortune Magazine editor, posing questions to entrepreneur Nicholas Woodman, founder and CEO of GoPro.
