The TV distributor DSI Systems, Inc., said this week that it has seen a 100 percent increase in flat panel sales from a year ago. The company attributed the jump to its “unique ability to provide multiple lines on one shipment to the retailer.” DSI believes that, despite the sluggish U.S. economy, flat-panel TV sales have and will continue to remain strong, especially with early adopters buying second and third models. DSI Systems has announced the release of its 2007 Fall/Winter Catalog. Consisting of 95 pages, the catalog includes products from 43 separate vendors, including new lines from Sharp, LG and Fisher and Paykel. Participating dealers are free to take advantage of the “Multiple Brands, One Shipment” offer, and order products from Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Pioneer, Yamaha and many other brands. The distributor DSI Systems said this week that it will begin offering LCD TV products from Sharp to members of the Nationwide Buying Group. The deal covers 720p and 1080p products from both Sharp’s standard and Aquos lines. As part of the deal, Sharp’s products will now be included in DSI’s “Multiple Brands, One Shipment” discount program, in which orders of over $5,000 are shipped for free. DSI’s established electronics clients include Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Monster Cable, Pioneer, and Toshiba.
DSI Systems Inc. has launched an online version of the bargain bin feature currently available in their print catalog. When dealers log in to the DSI Web site at www.dsisystemsinc.com, they can view overstock products, closeout goods and open or displayed products. The online nature of the bin affords dealers the ability to check on real-time availability and pricing at each branch.
