The Women in CE organization announced Wednesday the honorees for its annual Women in CE Legacy Awards. The four main honorees are Amy College, senior vice president of merchandizing at Best Buy; Amy Jo Smith, president of DEG: the Digital Entertainment Group; journalist Andrea Smith, formerly of ABC News; and Revenew founder and CEO Nasrin Thierer.
Core Brands said Tuesday that it has promoted James Koenig to the position of director of sales for the CI channel. Reporting to senior vice president of sales Dave Keller, Koenig "assumes responsibility for the development and implementation of all regional and national sales and business development programs for the Core Brands’ brands sold through custom installation dealers," the company said.
Core Brands announced Monday that it has begun supporting the Gary Sinise Foundation, through which it will donate audio and video products to five homes being built next year for returning wounded military personnel.
Former ELAN Home Systems president Paul Starkey and Fast Forward Business Coach Steve Firszt announced Monday that they have teamed up to create VITAL MGMT, professional services company. The company, the founders said, will offer premium data aggregation, benchmarking and business improvement services for the custom install market.
The Pacific Northwest Consumer Electronics Expo is scheduled to visit both Seattle and Portland next month. The industry-only event will visit Seattle June 11 and Portland June 13, both for all-day events.
Core Brands said this week that it has named Adam Griffin its new Northeast regional sales manager. Griffin was previously director of business development for InstallerNet, and has also worked for Crestron, Bang & Olufsen, ELAN Home Systems and Tweeter.
ELAN Home Systems said this week that the 6.0 version of its ELAN g! software will include integration with Fusion Research's Ovation audio streamers.
