The regional retailers who Dealerscope polled as part of our latest December roundtable provided a mixed report on how consumers are embracing 4K and Ultra HD TV in general. While some consumers are enthusiastically embracing UHD, especially as pricing continues to decline, others remain firmly on the sidelines, we were told. UHD TV pricing is still too high for some consumers—or is still perceived to be too high, at the very least. Here's the dealers' take on UHD TV and other challenges they are facing.

Cowboy Maloney’s Electric City: Keeping it Local

The industry’s accolades continue to pile on for Cowboy Maloney’s Electric City, a Jackson, Miss.-based 12-store family-run regional chain that was started in 1952 as a lumberyard by Con Maloney—one of this year’s CEA Hall of Fame honorees. The business is currently run by his sons, Con, Eddie and Johnny, from a Jackson facility that is a combination office, warehouse and showroom.
