iPad Accessories Market Leaves Room to Grow

The iPad not only changed the computing game, it also changed the accessories game. Despite the devices self-contained design, the iPad accessory business has blossomed with highly styled cases, sleeves, shells, screen protectors, docks, wireless keyboards, finger pads/styli, chargers, speakers and docking stations. It has created new product subcategories: stands and cases with built-in stands that support typing emails and viewing movies and presentations.

But with the success comes some drawbacks: market saturation (cases), increased vendor competition, limted iPad distribution, and the frequent failure to expertly display, demo and sell the accessories.
