Toys "R" Us will sell a new Android tablet aimed at the younger crowd.

The 7-inch Tabeo tablet sounds like a lot of entry-level Android tablets. Powered by a 1Ghz processor, the multi-touch device comes with 4GB of built-in storage but can handle up to 32GB with a micro SDHC card. Equipped with built-in Wi-Fi, the Tabeo lets kids browse the Internet, including Flash-enabled Web sites. With cellphones beating out traditional toys as the top item on children's holiday wish lists, what's the nation's largest toy specialty retailer to do? Give the kids what they want.

For the first time, Wayne-based Toys "R" Us is selling no-contract cellphones, and featuring them prominently in its promotional Christmas catalog. The retailer also has remodeled the electronics departments in its stores to make them more kid-friendly and to encourage youngsters to try cellphones, digital cameras and tablet computers.

Best Buy has thrown down the gauntlet in its latest weekly sales ad. Nearly every retailer that sells videogames is offering some sort of incentive for purchasing Call of Duty: Black Ops. For example Toys R Us is giving away a t-shirt and Kmart has 25,000 rewards points for your business. Best Buy is going all out with four CoD: Black Ops TV bundles. The first bundle includes a 50 inch Samsung Plasma 3D HDTV, two pairs of 3D glasses, Black Ops for Xbox 360 or PS3 and up to $50 in credit towards movies for $969.96.
