CEA’s Thibodeaux Jumps to Computer Association CEA’s Senior vice president of industry relations, Todd Thibodeaux, has left the industry association in order to become president and CEO of the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), the group announced this week. A 17-year CEA veteran, Thibodeaux will join CompTIA for a three-year transitional period July 1 before officially taking over Sept. 1. He replaces John Venator, the group’s CEO since 1989, who stepped down in order to care for his elderly parents. Longtime industry executive Don Bouchard died Thursday afternoon in Houston from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident in December, his company announced Friday. Bouchard’s passing came just days after his 58th birthday. Bouchard, Ultralink said in announcing his passing, “will be greatly missed by his family, friends and business colleagues, who saw him as ‘one of the brightest lights in the industry.’” Formerly of Ohm Acoustics, Acoustic Research, and Denon, among numerous other top industry companies, Bouchard most recently was executive vice president for sales and marketing at Ultralink/XLO Products. Don Bouchard, the executive vice president for sales and marketing at A/V speciality manufacturer Ultralink/XLO Products, is recovering from injuries suffered last weekend in a motorcycle accident, the company’s spokesman said. Bouchard, still in a Houston-area hospital, is expected to recover, and is surrounded by family, friends, and associates. An A/V industry veteran of more than three decades, Bouchard formerly worked with Ohm Acoustics, Acoustic Research, and Denon.
