HTSA Marks 10 Years at Phoenix confab The Home Theater Specialists of America (HTSA) celebrates its 10th anniversary with Richard Glikes, its executive director, vowing that the group’s resources would continue to be devoted to “relationship-building, branding of HTSA specialists in their markets, and encouraging members to focus their businesses on existing vendor partners.” The anniversary was marked at HTSA’s annual spring meeting, held in early April at Chandler, Ariz.’s Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort, which Glikes says attracted about 240 attendees and their families from among the 56-company membership. On June 1, Tweeter completed its purchase of SMK Marketing, which does business as Audio Video Systems with three locations (and a fourth on the way) in the Charlotte, N.C., market. Then today, June 4, Tweeter and Sound Advice reported they signed a merger agreement that is expected to be complete on or about Sept. 1, 2001.
