The TED app brings that online network's 1,900-plus lectures and performances to the Apple TV. The interface is divided into front page, Talks, and playlist sections, the latter two of which let viewers browse by category, or collections under different themes, such as Black History Month, languages, or aging.
There have always been a lot of creative industry hanging around at International CES. They appear at major keynotes and panels, they endorse products at booths, and they appear at parties. At the 2015 International CES, the CES/Hollywood connection will go even stronger. A dedicated location, known as the "C Space," will focus on content, along with the "marketing, advertising… and creative communities." The C Space will be housed at the Aria, throughout CES.
The Consumer Electronics Association has announced the Entertainment Matters Ambassador for the 2015 International CES- and it's "Drumline" star and former MTV host Nick Cannon. Cannon, musician, actor, TV host and longtime electronics industry endorser, will do the honors for the Entertainment Matters event, described by CEA as "a content-focused CES program developed for Hollywood’s film, television and digital communities." Variety is the main sponsor.
Panasonic will debut its newest 4K Ultra HD LED TV models – the AX850 (85-inch class) and AX900 (65-inch class) full-array 4K HDTVs- at the upcoming Luxury Technology Show in Beverly Hills.
Registration for the 2015 International CES is free through August 31, at which point a fee will be instituted.
TCL on Thursday unveiled new 25-foot-tall LED marquees at Hollywood’s famous Chinese Theater. The marquee was introduced at an awards ceremony in which the theater received Theater of the Year award from the Los Angeles Historic Theatre Foundation (LAHTF). The event also featured the turning-on of the marquees, and a peak at TCL’s new 85” LED UHD Smart TV (85UH9500).
