J.C. Penney Co. is not renewing its contract with Chris Madden, whose housewares business designs bedding, window treatments and a host of other products for the Plano-based retailer.

The housewares designer told the that her eight-year contract with the retailer ends soon and she is exploring all of her options, including moving her brand to other retailers and selling her business.
